About the Division

The Human Resources Division provides programs, consultation, information, and options that support the City of Silverton. Human Resources also works with directors, supervisors, elected officials, and other city employees on a wide variety of employment-related issues.

Responsibilities of the department include:
  • Recruitment and selection of employees
  • Employee benefit program design and administration
  • Creation and maintenance of employee records
  • Policy development, interpretation, and administration
  • Design and administration of classification and compensation plan
  • Labor negotiations
  • Interpretation and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements
  • Workers' compensation and risk management
  • Compliance with state and federal employment laws
  • Training and development
  • Volunteer program
