Water Quality TMDL Reports

Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL)

Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) Program is administered by the State of Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). A TMDL is the calculated pollutant amount that a waterbody can receive and still meet Oregon water quality standards. DEQ has divided the state into basin areas. The City of Silverton lies in the Molalla-Pudding River Subbasin of the Willamette Valley.  There is a TMDL in place for this Subbasin for the pollutant Mercury.  The City of Silverton is required to implement certain best management practices to improve the stormwater runoff within the City that enters streams that discharge to the Pudding River.  The City has a 5-year plan in place and completes an annual report on TMDL compliance progress.  These can be found at Engineering/Master Plans.
