Steelhammer Road Improvements PH I
The City's 2008 Transportation Master Plan recommended improving Steelhammer Road from Oak Street to Evans Valley Road. Phase I of the improvements will begin at Oak Street and travel south approximately 1,100 feet to Jaysie Drive. Pacific Excavation has been hired by the City to construct PH 1 of the Steelhammer improvements.
- Improved Roadway - Steelhammer Road will be widened to include two 11-foot wide travel lanes and two 5-foot wide bike lanes
- Improved Pedestrian Features - Sidewalks and ADA ramps have been incorporated into the project design for improved pedestrian access and safety
- Improved Infrastructure - The existing undersized storm drainage will be replaced with an improved 18-inch storm system. A cut-off trench and perforated pipe will be constructed at the bottom of Steelhammer to eliminate the problem associated with water seeping up through the asphalt. Existing fire hydrants will be relocated and or replaced, and water meters will be relocated behind the new sidewalk.
This page will be updated regularly throughout the project to provide schedule updates and project progress reports.
