Common Considerations for All Phases

  • Practice social/physical distancing by maintaining 6+ feet between yourself and others.
  • Virtual meetings are encouraged.
  • Employees with a qualifying need should contact their Supervisor to discuss accommodations or leave needs. FFCRA
  • (COVID-19 leave) remains in effect through 12/31/2020 and the City allows intermittent use of leave under the FFCRA.
  • Use of face masks is encouraged, but optional to each employee.
  • Expectation of employee sanitization of their personal workspaces.

PHASE I - effective May 22, 2020 (Marion County approved for Phase I)

  • City Hall remains closed to the public. Business conducted via phone/email/appointment.
  • Restrict non-essential meetings, conduct meetings virtually as much as possible.
  • Department Heads will develop a reintroduction to the physical workplace plan and begin implementation for their departments.
  • Symptoms and possible exposure self-reporting requirements remain in place.
  • No gathering allowed in common areas. Social/physical distancing requirements of 6+ feet apply.
    • Breakrooms are limited to the use of refrigerators, microwaves and vending.
    • Meeting rooms and Council Chambers are only for essential business.
  • No non-essential work-related travel.

PHASE II - On or about June 12, 2020-pending Marion County Phase II

  • City Hall doors open to the public 10am-2pm daily. Sign in sheet provided by each department. Appointments encouraged.
  • Any in-person meetings shall not exceed (#TBD) people provided social/physical distancing requirements of 6+ feet are met.
  • Department Heads continue implementation of their plans.
  • Symptoms and possible exposure self-reporting requirements continue.
  • Facilities/Safety Committee will work with departments to implement social distancing floor decals and wall signs for all
  • public service areas (i.e. Municipal Court, Utility Billing, Permits & Licenses).
  • Common areas - gathering allowed provided social/physical distancing requirements of 6+ feet are met.
  • No non-essential work-related travel.

PHASE III - Date TBD

  • City Hall facilities open to the public.
