City Charter Update Review Task Force

The City Charter Update Review Task Force reviews and provides recommendations to the City Council regarding updating the existing City Charter.

Membership and Term
  • Task Force will consist of seven voting members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.
  • At least one member shall be an elected member of the City Council.
  • The six others will be citizen members who are residents of the City or reside within the Silver Falls School District boundary.  
  • Term: Duration of the Task Force (approximately 3-6 months)  
Meeting Schedule
  • Meetings will be scheduled by the task force members; at least once per month until task is completed.

Powers and Duties 

This advisory group does not have any policy-making authority. However, it shall perform the following duties when requested by the City Council, City Manager, or staff designee.

  • Review and provide recommendations for an update of the City Charter, in preparation for the upcoming 2026 Legislative Session.
