Thank You for Participating in Survey 1 — Silverton Transit Expansion Study
Your input has been essential in helping the City of Silverton and our team of consultants assess and plan improvements for our local transit system.
Over the past several months, we’ve carefully studied Silverton’s current transportation network and compiled an Existing Conditions Report >>. This report provides a comprehensive look at what the Silver Trolley currently offers, where the service is falling short, and what improvements could help better serve our community. It also takes into account the transportation infrastructure as a whole.
Help Us Prioritize – Take Survey 2
We’ve now launched Survey 2, which focuses on these refined options—and we want to know which ones are most important to you.

What We Heard – And What We’re Doing
Thanks to your feedback from Survey 1, we’ve identified key areas of improvement and grouped them into two categories: Short-Term Solutions and Long-Term Projects.
Short-Term Improvements
With our current funding, we're exploring realistic and impactful enhancements, such as:
-
Saturday Service – Expanding service to include weekends for greater flexibility
-
More Vehicles – Increasing the number of trolleys to reduce wait times and improve reliability
-
Extended Hours – Running later into the evening to accommodate more riders’ schedules
These changes can help improve access for work, errands, appointments, and events—without waiting for long-term funding.
Long-Term Improvements
Looking further ahead, we're planning for more ambitious upgrades that would require additional funding, likely through future grants. These include:
-
A Deviated Fixed Route – A consistent, hourly loop around Silverton, with scheduled stops at key destinations like:
-
The grocery store
-
Silverton Hospital
-
Downtown
-
Other popular community spots
-
-
Mobility Hub – Developing a multi-purpose transportation hub that serves as a central access point for various travel options. This hub would include features such as:
-
Public parking
-
Bike stalls
-
Visitor information
-
A stop for the Silver Trolley
-
Potential connections to other transportation services in the future
-
