The City of Silverton is excited to announce the launch of the Silverton 2050 Comprehensive Plan Update, which aims to guide the city's growth and development over the next 20 years while preserving the qualities that make Silverton a unique place to live, work, and visit. This initiative is in line with the statewide planning goals established by the Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC).
The Silverton 2050 Comprehensive Plan will develop strategies to respond to regional growth while enhancing and preserving key assets such as Silverton’s thriving tourism industry, distinct downtown identity, industrial opportunities, affordable housing, and important civic amenities. This plan will outline a series of goals and policies to shape growth and development in our community for the next two decades and beyond.
As Silverton's primary land use policy document, the Comprehensive Plan will influence departmental work plans as well as city zoning and development codes. Throughout this process, there will be numerous opportunities for community involvement, including meetings, events, surveys, and focus groups.
